Today is, unfortunately, the last day of the break. I’m dreading go back to work tomorrow. I like teaching English; it’s very enriching to see the kids grow with the language, and it helps me so much with my French. I just cannot stand waking up at 6 a.m. I can’t function as a normal human being at 6 a.m. What is 6 a.m.?
Last night a few friends and I went to Le Moonshiner, a speakeasy themed bar where you have to enter through the refrigerator of the pizza place. I am fascinated with prohibition era history (being from Detroit, so I have to give a shout-out to the Detroit bus company which does a speakeasy tour of Detroit. So fun.) I tried to do my hair a bit old-timey. It was successful for a solid few minutes. Long enough for me to take a picture. Good enough for me.
The same group of friends and I went out to brunch this morning at Breakfast in America, an American themed diner, which is nice to do once in a while (especially when homesick.) It’s pretty authentic.
Afterwords I walked through an outdoor books & wine & pie sale (not sure what those 3 things had to do with each other, but I was into it) and ended up at Notre Dame where I scored three vintage posters for 5 euros.
Not a bad way to end the break.
xo à toute !
