Le Café des Chats, Le Marais

Le Café des Chats on Le Marais was recommended to me by a friend who studied abroad in France last year, but didn’t find out about the café until after she was home.

If you are a cat person like us, you will understand what a tragedy that is. Especially when in Paris, where everywhere you look you can find a tiny little dogs walking freely with their owners trailing behind – but never an apartment with a cat. What’s the deal?

Anyway, after months sans-cats, I did not take this information lightly. I found the place and went pretty much immediately. I took Achille with me. (Poor Achille. He doesn’t even like cats.)

There were about 15 or so more cats than I managed to capture on camera. Those things were swift, and (unfortunately for me,) normal affection-refusing cats.

But the place was really beautiful, and they have a full menu. I just got coffee, and Achille got chocolat chaud (hot chocolate.) I tried a bit of his and it was the most delicious chocolate chaud I’ve ever had. Would recommend. If you’re in Paris and interested in going, don’t forget to make a reservation online!
