Some Pre-Departure Things (12 Days)

 In Detroit, Paris

A friend of mine (actually, a couple of them) have told me to blog about the mundane things, like getting prepared. I feel like I’m not narcissistic enough to be a ‘real blogger’ because I’m constantly telling myself people aren’t going to find things like my obsessive compulsive lists interesting. So, I’m going to start being a little more self centered. Let me know if you like it!

My To-Buy Pre-France List:

  • White tank top (I’ve worn mine to the grave, and I need simple things that I can wear a million different times in different ways.)
  • Nail files/nail polish (I’m still technically homeless in France. Finding a nail salon is not going to be my top priority like it was for my boujey ass here.)
  • A new agenda. (I cannot function like a normal human without one.)
  • A passport/bording pass holder. (I realize this sounds a lot like what you may call a ‘wallet,’ but it’s not, guys. It’s not.)
  • Yellow umbrella/rain boots. (It rains like, 365 in France. Yeah, it has to be yellow. Yellow is my color.)
  • Black Jeans
  • TIGHTS. (For the sake of teaching children and also general cuteness. I need about 45 more pairs.)
  • Mace or pepper spray
  • Bigger comfier sweaters (I don’t know why I’m playin’ like I’m not going to find this at The Salvation Army…)
  • A new peacoat
  • Eyeliner/mascara/tweezers

So, yesterday I went shopping, and I knocked everything off of this list besides sweaters and an agenda. And ok fine, I bought a black and white floral umbrella because let me tell you what does not exist outside of the world of How I Met Your Mother – a yellow umbrella.

xx a bientôt
