Sara and Nadine in Paris

We definitely made the mistake of not spending enough time in Paris. When she got to the city that I had made a home in, I was naive in that I didn’t think about how much I would want t show her. So we spent the first two days running from monument to monument.

Some of the Paris highlights:

• After showing Sara the main apartment building for the family I babysit for, she asked me where the back elevator led to. I told her to led to the “peasants quarters” (my flat,) and we continued to refer to my place as the peasants quarters for the rest of the trip.
• I told sara to expect a lot of PDA. However neither of us expected to see a couple with a girl who’s hand was so far down her boyfriend’s butt that we could barely see her knuckles. For the rest of the trip, we referred to that at the “taint situation.”
• Sara truly shined in her role as “Tourist” in “American stereotypes.” While crossing the road, I explained how Parisians will cross regardless of streetlight color, and Sara responded with “Where I come from, we call that freedom!”
