Calgary, Alberta, Canada

 In Calgary

Like most of my other trips to Canada, I was sent to Calgary for work. So although it was a short trip, we didn’t have to skimp on costs like food, because it was all on the company’s dime. That was pretty cool.

For a city I never would have visited if I wasn’t sent there for work, I was surprised. I actually loved it.

Calgary has a beautiful and even somewhat hipster downtown area with a bubbly neighborhood and tons to do. Brigette and I ended up walking around, getting some drinks, and even doing some shopping.

Brigette and I had a lot of clients in Calgary, so we were lucky to get some suggestions on what to do and where to go from locals. They told us we needed to go to two places: National, and

We did end up going to National, and I’m glad we did. We didn’t end up getting to go to and I regret that.

Another thing we were told was not to leave without trying Alberta beef. If you didn’t already know, Alberta is known for their beef, so if you’re into trying out the cuisine of the city or country you’re visiting like I am, you’ll definitely want to get a steak in Calgary. We ended up going to an absolutely delicious spot (though very pricy.)

The highlight my trip was passing a store called The Rocket that makes custom T shirts and other alternatively designed apparel. You can pick from hundreds of designs, pick any type of shirt you want and get your design printed on it. If you know me at all, you know how much I love recycled/rebranded/vintage/thrifted/self-made stuff, so this shop was right up my alley. If that’s your jam as well, I highly recommend stopping by there.
