My mom and I planned this huge trip to the U.K. (we also passed through London and Edinburgh) so that we could see Ireland, specifically because we wanted to see Ireland the way it was shown in in the movie P.S., I Love You. We really failed at that, because we didn’t do research on where exactly we could see such beautiful greenery, and instead decided to head for the capital. It was a lot of fun anyway, just not the experience we were expecting.

We spent most of our time just going to bars with live bands. It was a lot of fun.

Disclaimer: This next paragraph is pretty gross.

You know that stereotype about Irish drinking? It’s not just true, it’s worse than you could imagine. Sure, in Dublin, they’re up partying all night long. That’s to be expected. But what you could never imagine is having to play leap frog over piles of vomit with your suitcase while trying to catch your 6 am flight. Yeah- I wish I could say any part of that sentence was an exaggeration.

Tips:

• I remember struggling to find a decent price for a hotel or Airbnb. I reccomend doing your research way ahead of time to avoid settling for something like we ended up having to.
• My mom really did not want to go to the Jameson Distillery, but I’ve got to recommend to everyone else not to skip that. Can’t believe we did.
